Biological Materials Production Team Leader,

Microbial Culturing and Protein Purification

TechLab, Inc. develops, manufactures, and distributes medical diagnostic tests. This company places emphasis on science and collaboration with Universities. We are looking to add a Biological Materials Production Team Leader,

Microbial Culturing and Protein Purification to our team.

An employee in this position can expect to perform the following duties:

· Perform parasitic culturing: growth, maintenance, supernatant harvesting, and reactivity screening

· Carry out transformation and expression of recombinant proteins

· Perform purification of antibody, recombinant antigens and native toxins

· Conduct annual validations on equipment

· Conduct investigation for non-conformances and defects

· Perform peer review on completed batch records and other documents

· Troubleshoot and recommend improvements to existing protocols

· Write new standard operating procedures and master batch records and initiate change to the existing documents

· Oversee daily activities supporting biological materials production including but not limited to buffer and media preparation

· Assist BMP personnel with daily work and provide scientific guidance

· Work on tasks set by Biological Materials Production Manager

· Supervise BMP Scientists, BMP Associates, BMP Technicians, BMP Assistants and BMP Glassware Technicians

This position requires candidates to possess a B.S in Life Sciences plus 3 years of relevant experience or M.S in a life science plus 1 year of experience, previous supervisory experience preferred.
