JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs the duties of the Supply Technician and works under general supervision of the section lead on behalf of the Modernization Displacement Repair Site Supervisor. This position performs limited aspects of technical supply management work (e.g., inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization) related to depot, local, or other supply activities. Work usually is segregated by commodity area or function, and controlled in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility. Assignments usually relate to stable or standardized segments of technical supply management operations; or to functions or subjects that are narrow in scope or limited in difficulty. The work generally involves individual case problems or supply actions. This work may require consideration of program requirements together with specific variations in or from standardized guidelines. Assignments require: (a) a good working knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines; (b) an understanding of the needs of the organization serviced; and (c) analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data to establish the facts, and take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines.
May be assigned to support contract support requirements in job-related areas such as environmental, safety, and security. Position will require surge from time to time to the unit holding areas, motor pools, offices to support administrative requirements for MDRS assets. In addition to the broad scope of complexity which is aligned to quality control, data line content, and posting of all transactional data being conducted on a normal day, must be able to utilize multifaceted information systems access (GCCS-A, LIW, AESIT, FMSWEB, etc.) in compliance to various defined procedures. Technical knowledge includes but is not limited to quality control procedures, DOD/Army/Navy/Air Force regulations/process requirements, standard operation procedures, manpower utilization, time management, logistics, safety, and physical security.
Position involves working primarily in an indoor environment and additionally, surge to outdoor environment which will occur as directed and will include periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions and may require the operation of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) in performing various warehousing functions and obtain operators qualification. Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 50 lbs., pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, climbing and reaching. Will be required to handle hazardous material and use of related personal protective equipment.
Must possess a current valid driver’s license, ability to acquire a DA Form 7281 and be in compliance with the Lautenberg Amendment. Additionally, the use of AIT, powered equipment, material handling equipment, fax machine, copier, and knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. The person selected for this position must possess excellent organizational and multitasking skills, as well as a Level 2 (intermediate) command of Microsoft Office.
Preferred: Some college and 3 years of applicable GCCS-A and Logistics Information Warehouse (LIW) experience. Working knowledge of Windows and Level 2 (intermediate) proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Microsoft word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.).
Must be a U.S. citizen. Paid relocation assistance is not available. Candidates must currently reside within commuting distance or clearly state a willingness to relocate his or herself.
