Summary/Objective:

Tech Systems Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for the USMC recruit uniform tailor and alterations account at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island. The Assistant Project Manager will facilitate the efficient operation of the assigned department by performing various operational, clerical, and administrative tasks.

Essential Functions:

· Collaborate with the Project Manager in project planning, operations, scheduling, and budgeting.

· Generate regular progress reports and updates for project stakeholders.

· Provides general leadership and management for the Recruit Clothing Uniform Alteration Activities.

· Ensures strict adherence to all applicable policies and regulations.

· Provides cost benefit analysis for functional requirement changes through the continuous improvement plan.

· Provides policy and procedural direction to staff.

· Manages cross-functional teams in support of contract requirements.

· Identify potential risks and issues and work with the Project Manager to develop mitigation strategies.

· Keep track of production during the day to ensure documentation is correct and complete.

· Act as a liaison between employees and supervision.

· Correspond with higher management on employee benefits, HR-related duties, timesheet management, personnel management, and payroll.

· Respond to and resolve administrative inquiries and questions.

· Assist the Contract Officer Representative with inquiries in the absence of the Project Manager.

· Maintain at least two weeks of daily production forecasts based on standards of production, appointment schedule, known and projected recruit numbers, and time off requests.

· Communicate immediately to the Project Manager when deliveries have the potential to be late and present options to prevent and mitigate occurrences.

· Draft and post a weekly work schedule.

· Complete employee attendance reports and make recommendations for time off requests.

· Establish and communicate the priority of work based on the appointment schedule and delivery due dates.

· Enforce company policy and regulations.

· Perform any other duties as assigned.

· Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to changes or restructure of priorities based on client needs.

· Experience preparing financial reports is preferred but not required.

· Knowledge of sewing and tailoring is a plus but not required.

· Must be able to pass a background check for installation access.

Work Environment:

· Monday through Friday, some weekends are required.

· No travel required.

· Must use proper personal protective equipment and follow all safety guidelines and regulations.

· Must be able to lift an armful of unfinished/finished fabric and materials; weight adjusted according to individual ability and comfort level.

Education and Experience:

· Associate degree in Business Management, Business Administration.

· Three to five years of experience in a related role required with supervisory experience preferred.

· Experience with military and private business financial and enterprise management systems a plus.

· Proven management and leadership skills.

· Knowledge of production processes and productivity management.

· Proven problem-solving capability, experienced in production environment, and initiating and managing corrective action processes.

· Capable of developing teams and coordinating staff responsibilities and tasks.

· Ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally internally and with customers and end users to ensure that implementation of services is geared towards customer satisfaction.

· Human Resource management in performance counseling, disciplinary actions and implementation of regulatory changes and updates.
