Primary Job Duties & Tasks:

• Project Scope and Vision: Collaborate with stakeholders and development team to determine project scope, vision, and prioritize requirements.
• Data Architecture: Design and implement comprehensive data architectures supporting organizational goals using Azure Synapse Analytics and other Azure data services.
• Managing SQL Pools: Efficiently manage and optimize Dedicated SQL Pools in Synapse for large-scale data warehousing and analytics.
• Database Design and Management: Implement and manage databases using Azure SQL and Azure Managed Instance, ensuring performance, availability, and security.
• Data Integration and ETL Processes: Develop and manage ETL processes using Synapse Pipelines to ensure efficient data flow from various sources.
• Data Governance and Cataloging: Implement data governance practices and manage data catalog for quality, consistency, and accessibility.
• Data Models: Build and maintain scalable and optimized data models representing the data landscape.
• Data Security and Compliance: Implement and oversee data security measures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
• Documentation: Maintain procedures manuals and system documentation.
• Research and Analysis: Research software solutions, analyze current/future technology trends, and make recommendations.

Specific Knowledge Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

• Experience: Significant experience (4 years) in Synapse Analytics, Dedicated SQL Pools, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Managed Instance.
• SQL Skills: Advanced skills in DDL, DML T-SQL, stored procedure writing, database design, and management.
• Data Architecture: Proficiency (4 years) in data architecture design principles, methodologies, and best practices.
• Data Governance: Experience (3 years) in data governance principles and compliance requirements.
• Cloud Computing: Knowledge (2 years) of cloud computing concepts, particularly in Microsoft Azure.
• Programming: Familiarity (1 years) with programming languages such as Python or Scala.
• Additional Skills: Experience in Salesforce, Message MQ, MuleSoft, and strong analytical/problem-solving skills.

Education & Certification:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
