TEC is Hiring a Construction Technician Near Springs, MS

BASIC JOB SUMMARY:

The overall purpose of the Construction Technician is to work construction and maintenance of aerial and buried plan facilities. The person in this position performs a variety of tasks and relies on experience, judgment, and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. This position requires the ability to interact and communicate in a professional, effective manner, both in writing and verbally, with customers, co-workers, and supervisors and/or managers.

The Construction Technician is expected to adhere to regulations, Company policies and values, and to represent themselves and the Company in a positive and productive manner.

Adherence to all standard operating procedures, safe work practices as found in the TEC Safety Handbook, and OSHA guidelines is essential to promote safety of all employees.

ESSENTIAL JON FUNCTIONS:

The essential job functions and duties described below may not be the only requirements of the position. It may be necessary to follow other instructions or perform other related duties as required by the company.

  • Travel to on-site work locations using a personal vehicle or a company vehicle is required, therefore, a valid personal driver’s license and adequate insurance coverage on the personal vehicle is required at all times. When applicable, a valid commercial driver’s license may be required, as well
  • Works construction, additions, and repairs of copper and fiber optic installations
  • Maintains upkeep of vehicles and equipment
  • Loads and unloads necessary materials for construction, maintenance, and tear downs
  • Safely and efficiently operate various construction machinery and equipment, and vehicles applicable to the job
  • Use and work with online mapping tools and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • Operate the Company’s computer tracking system in an efficient and timely manner

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Other duties as assigned.
