Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Staff Accountant who would provide a wide range of general ledger accounting support including balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and various month-end close related tasks. This position may have a special focus in specific areas of accounting such as fixed assets, cash, revenue, etc. Although this position is generally subject to moderate direct supervision, a degree of latitude and independent problem-solving is expected. Additionally, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for various internal reporting tasks and will provide support to the Company’s close processes by reviewing P&L and Balance sheet accounts.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations using best in class templates and techniques for audit support.
• Complete a wide range of month-end close related responsibilities ensuring timely and accurate month-end reporting.
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries.
• Support the cycle of continuous improvement in process and controls. Apply structured problem-solving techniques to create robust, enduring process workflows as well as to develop and implement process improvements to improve efficiency.
• Provide administrative support to internal customers for TEC’s accounting/dealer management system (CDK), Fixed Asset software (CCH) and TEC’s Internally developed CAPEX approval software.
• This role is responsible to the for ensuring the accuracy of the Company’s IT inventory balances. This includes performing periodic physical counts of IT inventory, reconciling IT inventory GL account balances, and maintaining open communication with the IT Team.
• Provide internal stakeholders with required reports detailing fixed asset and CIP balances.
• Maintain adequate knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting aspects tied to specific balance sheet accounts.
• Manage workload and meet deadlines. Proactively communicate with Management when there are unexpected challenges.
• Act as the subject matter expert in assigned areas of responsibility.
• Provide excellent customer service to cross functional members of the TEC Team.
• Assist in special projects as needed.
• Support external audits as needed.
• Assist in special projects and ad-hoc reporting as needed.
• Support cycle of continuous improvement in various general ledger processes. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2-3 years of related experience and strong knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experience in medium to large-sized company desired.
• Intermediate proficiency with MS Office and basic accounting applications. 
• Strong attention to detail, time management and organization skills.
• Intermediate skill with Microsoft Excel, having the ability to independently work though complex Excel based accounting schedules.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
• Ability to work independently utilize sound judgment in applying accounting concepts and the capacity to successfully managing ambiguous situations or changes in direction and priorities.
