TEC Equipment, Inc. is Hiring a Facilities Manager Near Fontana, CA

Overview

The Facilities Manager oversees and coordinates the maintenance and repair of assigned TEC buildings, equipment, and grounds. This includes but is not limited to electrical, plumbing, ventilation, HVAC, and other building systems. In addition, this position is responsible for evaluating problematic systems or facilities and overseeing any contracted work. The Facilities Manager supervises janitorial/maintenance staff and contractors to ensure work is performed in accordance with defined quality standards and positively represents TEC Equipment. Work is generally split 70% field work and 30% office work.

TEC Equipment facilities in area of responsibility include:

  • Fontana (Randall Ave)
  • Fontana (Valley Blvd)
  • Fontana (Merrill Ave)
  • La Mirada
  • Sun Valley
  • San Diego
  • All facilities in AOR cover approximately 350,000 square feet.

    Responsibilities

    • Inspecting, evaluate, and supervise all facility maintenance and repair work to meet quality standards and deadlines. Field maintenance calls and assign work appropriately to staff or contractors.
    • Ensure staff at all worksites understand, are properly trained, and are accountable for their responsibilities. Provide managerial support and regular check ins to ensure staff understands expectations, feels engaged, appreciated, and committed to their job and working at TEC.
    • Ensure facilities are sufficiently stocked with inventory; order supplies as needed. This includes vending machines.
    • Maintain ticket system for monitoring status of open items and evaluating data on work performed to support resourcing model.
    • Maintain daily, weekly and/or monthly “to do” lists and scorecards for each facility with status updates. Report updates to management on regular basis.
    • Ensure effective working relationships with vendors; select and schedule best vendors for TEC needs; negotiate best possible rates for quality work. Work with accounts payable to ensure prompt payment to vendors.
    • On occasion/emergency basis, perform maintenance and repair work which includes, but isn’t limited to repairing office furniture, cabinetry, painting, key making, lighting, light landscaping, minor plumbing maintenance, minor electrical maintenance, etc.
    • Enforce and ensure staff adheres to company and regulatory health, safety, environmental standards.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum five years’ overseeing facilities maintenance, preferably for multiple locations.
    • Experience performing light maintenance and janitorial work.
    • Experience working with and managing the work of maintenance vendors.
    • Experience with electrical trade or other construction-related trades.
    • Advanced skill using hand, power, and specialty tools; experience using lifts
    • Knowledge of and experience performing electrical, plumbing, and carpentry (e.g., drywall, framework, etc.)
    • Ability to monitor regular preventative maintenance as well as ongoing maintenance while supervising the work of others.
    • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of managers and employees and external contacts
    • Ability to effectively monitor and manage employees and contractors.
    • Ability to identify problems and solve them independently
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Maintenance certifications, coursework in electrical, HVAC, and related areas.
    • Ability to monitor and maintain a “ticketing” system for work orders.
