GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Production Artist will be part of our creative team working side by side with graphic designers preparing and sending proofs to our customers, setting up production files as well as acting as the final checkpoint in our production process. 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Execute production of creative and graphic concepts from the design team
• Produce proofs as needed and as specified on the sales order for customer review and approval 
• Set up production files based on decoration method 
• Solve business challenges through smart production
• Make various formats of supplied artwork production-ready and resolve any artwork issues that arise during production 
• Interact regularly with designers, production, and sales team as needed for the completion of assigned projects 
• Responsible for ensuring that all required checklist(s) are completed accordingly and in full, without errors 
• Participate in process improvement efforts and various production meetings to foster a positive and creative impact on the business. 
• Catalog and reference art for future projects 
• Follow a development timeline to ensure tasks are being completed on time 
• Contribute ideas to design artwork to fulfill customer specifications 
• Act as the inter-departmental collaborator 

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Other duties as assigned

$18-$21 per hour Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design (preferred) or prepress background and 3 years of similar experience.

Core Competencies:

Excellent technical skills in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator. and Photoshop. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES

Ability to read and understand workflow diagrams and SOPs.

Keen eye for the smallest details for reviewing final files, proofs, and ensuring standards across color, font, production quality and more. 

Ability to adapt and help improve and streamline processes. 

Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn existing and new workflows

Exceptional organizational and follow-up skills.

Maintains composure in stressful situations. 

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal along with the ability to listen for understanding to execute the work according to the customer’s needs. 

Process-oriented self-starter who stays up to date with new production techniques and trends through research and education.

Meticulous and goal oriented.

The desire to thrive in a professional, fast paced environment juggling multiple projects and deliverables.

Ability to work independently within the scope of assignment as well as with a team.

Ability to learn multiple decoration methods and proper technique to deliver the best possible product.
