The Speech Language Pathology Assistant under the supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist, will assist in treatment planning and ongoing assessment of patients receiving Speech Therapy. The SLP-Assistant will also implement treatment plans of patients who have been evaluated by the Speech Language Pathologist. The following is a summary of major essential functions of the Speech Language Pathology Assistant. Other duties may be performed, as permitted by Texas law and regulations of governing entities. Specific functions may, from time to time, change. These functions include:
Essential Functions4. Assure that all documentation is co-signed by the SLP.
8. Observe patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines.
12. Assume personal responsibility for professional development and continuing education.
14. Provide education related to Speech Therapy to staff and the general public upon request.
19. Perform other duties, as delegated, required, or requested.
Qualifications1. Must be a graduate of an accredited Speech program holding a Bachelor’s degree.
3. Must be competent to treat pediatrics and adolescents.
4. Must be CPR certified for all age groups.
Physical Requirements1. Must be able to follow written procedures and verbal directives.
