Job Title:
Team Leader Mast Assembly

FLSA Status: NE


SUMMARY

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in assembling mast and/or lighting product. The team leader for an assembly cell will be responsible for the overall effectiveness of the assembly cell. They will serve and the main point of contact for scheduling, procurement, and engineering as needed.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following.

  • Be an ambassador of Will-Burt’s ART (Accountability, Respect, and Trust) culture. The team leader will be accountable for key metrics within the assembly cell and help establish a culture of respect and trust.
  • Reads and interprets specifications, blueprints, job orders to workers, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences and assigns duties.
  • Monitors levels of point of use inventory/consumables and creates purchase requisitions for replenishment
  • Helps identifying non-conforming items within the assembly cell and helps coordinate resolution within Unifize.
  • Develop strong, trusting relationships with the other team leaders within mast assembly.
  • Work with the other team leaders to ensure all production schedule and requirements can be met.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised.
  • Assures part comply to drawing specifications.
  • Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
