Team Georgia Careers is Hiring a Teacher (Blind/Deaf) Near Macon, GA

Job Duties

The Georgia Academy for the Blind is accepting applications for Special Education teachers for students with multiple disabilities in self contained classroom settings. Applicants should hold, or be eligible for; a certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission in the area of Special Education Adapted Curriculum Consultative and must meet the definition of Highly Qualified as defined by NCLB. Provides a comprehensive educational program to meet the needs of students who are visually impaired or multi-disabled in a residential school setting. Responsibilities include assessing and documenting students' educational needs to develop and implement appropriate instructional plans; developing appropriate instructional materials; and integrating assistive technology into classroom activities; and utilizing innovative and research based instructional techniques and practices. These positions will teach visually impaired/multi-disabled students in Early Childhood (P-5) or Middle Schools (4-8) or High School.

**Salary Starting: 40,000**
