Team Georgia Careers is Hiring an Election Operations and Security Audit Manager Near Atlanta, GA

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Election Operations and Security Audit Manager leads the efforts of the Elections Division to review county processes and provide constructive feedback to county election officials. This person will work closely with the Election Services, Voting Systems, and Election Information Systems Teams in the Elections Division to have a full understanding of the training being provided to county officials, and to provide feedback on subjects that need to be trained on. This person must have a thorough understanding of election laws, State Election Board (SEB) rules, and general election administration processes, such as securing voting equipment, securing election data, processing voter registrations, processing absentee ballots, canvassing procedures following elections, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

·Lead process audits of county election and registration offices in a variety of areas, including but not limited to, voter registration, voting system management, poll worker training, mail room processes, absentee ballot management, candidate qualifying, and petition management.

·Draft reports explaining audit objectives and audit findings.

·Train county election and registration offices on process improvements through in person trainings and webinar trainings.

·Frequently travel to county election and registration offices.

·Supervise the County Election Operations and Security Audit Specialist.

·Communicate and train Elections Division staff on updates and/or recent changes to elections processes and laws.

·Assist with post-election audits, including the implementation of Risk-Limiting Audits and other process audits.

·Build an annual audit plan for the Elections Division Director.

·Assist with testing of the voter registration system to learn processes used by county registrars.

·Build training products and webinars that promote efficiencies in election and registration processes.

·Create audit checklists that detail steps to completing election and registration processes.

·Stay up to date on election and registration laws, SEB rules, and best practices.

·Track and control project resources.

·Ensure timely and accurate completion of all assignments and responsibilities.

·Periodically reviews, with consultation from staff, business processes to continually improve efficiency in delivery of division services.

·Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION REQUIREMENTS: The Election Operations and Security Audit Manager will supervise an audit specialist.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum 3-5 years of elections experience OR more than 5 years of experience in an elections or business related auditing position.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Completion of a Bachelor’s degree from a nationally accredited college or institution is preferred. Additional years of work experience in an elections or business related auditing position may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Bachelors Degree *and* One (1) year of work related experienceORAssociates Degree in Business Administrative Technology *and* Two (2) years of related work experienceNote: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
