Job Duties
Under general supervision, duties include but are not limited to: provide a means of transportation for students/staff of the Georgia Academy for the Blind; responsible for meeting state driver licensure requirements and obeys all laws for operation of a school bus; the candidate is under the supervision of the school Property and Supply Manager and the Superintendent; enforce normal school system and/or state regulations while transporting groups; maintain a safe environment within the bus by enforcing rules of conduct and responding to emergencies; cleaning the bus at the end of each trip; stay with groups on all trips; demonstrate courteous and respectful behavior with students, staff and the general public; prohibit food and smoking or unsafe conduct on bus; perform pre and post trip safety and maintenance checks; advise supervisor of any maintenance or repair needs; complete records of all trips and submit them weekly.
