POSITION:LPN to ASN Bridge Nursing Instructor, Full-time LOCATION:Currahee campus Description Provide instruction in the theory and clinical applications of nursing on the Currahee and Clarkesville Campuses and oversee students in the clinical setting. Job Responsibilities: •Engages learners in the ASN program using a variety of learning experiences and activities in didactic, lab, clinical, and simulated learning environments •Develops program and course outlines, goals, and objectives that meet individual student needs and interests while meeting the program standards and aligning with the curricular concepts •Evaluates students' progress and performance, knowledge, and skill in attaining goals and objectives in the courses being taught on a regular basis and provides timely feedback to students •Collects and analyzes data to identify trends in student performance and to inform curriculum design and program improvement •Advises pre-program students of requirements of the ASN program to include, but not limited to, pre-requisite courses, competitive admission, skills assessment, and clinical requirements. •Participates in program and college committees •Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports as required by law and administrative regulations •Ensures safety and security requirements are met in training areas •Plans and implements a lab management and safety plan •Meets with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students •Understands and adheres to the components of the annual faculty evaluation tool •Maintains contact with the business community to keep abreast of technological changes and employment needs •Assists the clinical coordinator in student placement in the clinical setting •Demonstrates a willingness to be of service and exhibits pleasant and courteous behavior toward customers (students, parents, employers, and media), organizational co-workers, and other general public contacts •Adheres to and carries out State Board policies and procedures as well as procedures of the college •Participates in assessment, planning, budgeting, and staff development •Assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement of students •Participates in budget preparation and planning •Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares required budget requests •Maintains required faculty credentials and certifications for the organization and clinical partners •Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications •Master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution or currently enrolled in a graduate program. •Three (3) years' work experience as a registered nurse within the past five (5) years •Georgia RN license in good standing; or multistate compact license (Georgia) •Excellent written and verbal communication skills •CPR Certification Preferred Qualifications
•Teaching experience in an associate degree nursing program •Teaching experience in an accredited nursing program •Experience using simulation equipment for nursing education •Experience with assessment testing for admission and program progression |
