Team Elmer's seeks to fill an opening for an Assistant Dispatcher for the Concrete Plant in Traverse City. This is a full-time position during the construction season with reduced hours during the off-season (winter season). The position assists the Concrete Plant Manager in carrying out several of the following daily duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensures a safe working environment and assists with supervising daily production, plant maintenance and repairs and the delivery of products.
• Assists with scheduling of drivers and operator(s) assigned to the plant.
• Helps coordinate with the customers and sales staff to meet business needs.
• Handles daily driver paperwork, time cards and logs
• Practice safety at all times including driving of company vehicles or use of equipment. Use PPE while on jobsite e.g. hard hat safety glasses, ear protection, high visibility vest, steel toe boots, pants, and gloves.
• Take initiative and anticipate what needs to be done.
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid license
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Clean driving record for past 5 years
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
• Ability to multi-task and plan ahead
• Attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work early mornings or late evenings, if needed
• Excellent customer service skills
• Previous dispatching experience a plus but not required
• Ability to work long hours in a 5-6 day a week environment
• Ability to follow all company, DOT, OSHA, and MiOSHA safety rules.
