Teachwell Solutions (East Dakota Ed Coop) is Hiring a Career Advisor Near Sioux Falls, SD

Teachwell Solutions has a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young adults with disabilities to help them reach career goals. The Teachwell Strive Program is a partnership with Southeast Technical College and the State Vocational Rehabilitation department that provides supports for students in the post-secondary setting. The Career Advisor uses vocational assessments, job shadowing, and real world experiences to assess student aptitudes, interests, and college programs of interest in order to find a fitting internship/employment experience. The Advisor prepares clear and concise documentation, reports, and correspondence with Vocational Rehabilitation and referring school districts; provides mentoring and coaching for students to develop and accomplish their personal, academic, and professional goals; facilitates student independence by helping them connect to the college campus, community resources, and opportunities; and assists students in processes related to registration, admissions, financial aid, career services and other related topics, as needed. This is a job that requires high energy and enthusiasm for the work.

4-year college degree in behavioral, social science, education or human services field preferred. Should have a solid understanding of the post-secondary education process. Experience working with disabled persons and young adults is a plus. Person selected for this position must be able to complete a fingerprint-based background check and provide verification of eligibility to work in the U.S.

Base pay for this position is $20 per hour with additional pay based upon experience in similar positions. School year-based position with summers off.
