Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

Teachers of Tomorrow is looking to add a Director of FP&A to our team. This candidate will be responsible for building and overseeing the entire scope of the FP&A function for this Private Equity backed, mission-driven organization, including financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting. This position is remote.

About the Position

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer and partnering with business leaders, the Director of FP&A will be responsible for financial planning (P&L, Balance Sheet & Cash Flow), proactive business analytics, modeling, pricing processes, competitive analysis, reporting enhancements, actual vs forecast variance analysis explanations, and ad hoc business performance projects and analytics.

  • Key Responsibilities
    • Build and maintain the full financial model for the business, initially in excel with future plans to implement a business planning tool
    • Work closely with ToT Executives to build annual plans and monthly forecasts
    • Own regular KPI and financial reporting of results with commentary and analysis
    • Counsel business unit leaders on financial related matters
    • Lead the collaboration with peers in Accounting and Finance departments to perform ad-hoc analysis and to explain variances versus Budget, prior Forecast, and prior months
    • Provide ad hoc support to business leaders
    • Look for ways to improve the accuracy and automation of the current processes
    • Play a key leadership role in the Finance organization, including improving management reporting, mentoring team members, and assisting with business optimization.

What We are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7-9 years or more of job-related experience. MBA preferred.
  • Prior management experience required.
  • Experience managing revenue forecasting.
  • Exceptional Excel modeling skills and experience building full 3-statement financial models.
  • Experience with Adaptive Insights, Hyperion, or similar corporate performance management (CPM) tools.
  • Experience in a high transaction volume business preferred.
  • Highly organized and able to manage competing priorities.
  • High level of analytical ability and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required. Must be comfortable presenting to leadership.
  • High degree of curiosity and relentless follow through.
  • Must be able to legally work for any US company without sponsorship.
