Position Summary: Responsible for the general maintenance of all district schools’ facilities, and ground including all internal operating systems and controls, external maintenance, repair and installation of HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, electrical and mechanical systems. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele. 

Typical Responsibilities:1. Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.

  1. Inspects and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures
  2. Assists with repairs of facilities and equipment including building renovation/remodeling
  3. Replacement and repair of door hardware and windows.
  4. Performs minor maintenance on HVAC equipment and systems, boilers, and hot water heaters such as motor lubrication, filters, belts, valves, etc.
  5. Repairs and maintains general mechanical systems and equipment in district facilities
  6. Responsible for installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing fixtures, drains and pipes 
  7. May perform limited asbestos removal
  8. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
  9. Observes all district policies and procedures.

Skill Requirements:

  • Plumbing experience preferred.
  • Drive a truck/vehicle, pull a trailer.
  • Basic mechanics
  • Basic math
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools
  • Welding
  • Knowledge of various mechanical systems including HVAC.
  • Equipment operation
  • Basic carpentry
  • Basic electrical

Minimum Experience: One to three years in a maintenance job.

Essential Physical Demands:

  • Constant lifting 5 to 20 pounds
  • Frequent lifting 20 to over 50 pounds
  • Constant standing, walking
  • Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, climbing, kneeling.
  • Occasional crawling, sitting, stooping.

License or Certification: Colorado Driver’s License and small vehicle permit.
