Immediately seeking an experienced and highly detail-oriented Lead Payroll Accountant for a busy construction company.
In order to be considered for this position a minimum of 2 years’ experience with certified payroll and union reporting is required as well as a four-year college degree in Business, Finance (or Accounting or equivalent experience).
Must have excellent written and verbal communication, the ability to multi-task, organize and perform under multiple deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the performance and completion of the weekly payroll process.
• Entering and updating employee information in the computerized payroll system files, including general information, withholding, reporting, and deduction files.
• Responsible for updating and maintaining paid time off accruals and adjustments.
• Monthly reconciliation of all payroll liability accounts for financial reporting.
• Overall responsibility for workers comp and general liability reporting and payment.
• Overall responsibility for workers comp and general liability reporting and payment.
• Quarterly tax calculation, reporting and payment.
• Maintains the reconciliation for all employee loans.
• Processing and maintenance of state tax payments and reporting.
• Oversee payroll payment and ACH approval.
• Assist with month-end recurring journal entries as needed.
• Assists with reconciliation and review of other accounting functions as needed.
• Assist in preparation for the annual audit of financial statements.
• Assist in internal audit procedures.
• Cross-train in other financial areas.
• Other duties as assigned.

This is a full-time position Monday -Friday, 8am-5pm with occasional overtime as needed. Pay starts at $33.94-$41.57 depending on experience.
Minimum Requirements:

• Three years or more experience performing similar functions in the construction industry.
• Four Year College degree in Business, Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience.
• Minimum two years’ experience with certified payrolls and union reporting.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in similar business function.
• Experience in computerized accounting, e-mail, electronic spreadsheet development and word processing.
• Advanced Excel knowledge.
• Background will be viewed.
