Taylor Hopkinson | Powered by Brunel is Hiring a Project Cost Controller Near Boston, MA

Project Cost Controller required for a Major Offshore Windfarm Developer in the Northeast.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for capturing cost commitments, VOWD (Value of Work Done) and cost forecasting/phasing.
  • Analyze cost data, identification of trends and provide insights to support decision making.
  • Deliver accurate monthly cost reports, identifying variances from planned commitments, value of work done and variances against approved budget.
  • Support the procure to pay process via compliance check of invoices to ensure invoiced values/rates are in accordance with contracts and service entry creation in SAP.
  • SAP purchase requisition creation for approved scopes of work and assignment of costs to the suitable element in the project work breakdown structure.
  • Prepare cost reconciliations with actuals from SAP.
  • Prepare reconciliations between earlier cost estimates / budgets and the current cost forecast.
  • Support scope owners by conducting cost reviews providing detailed cost and performance analysis.
  • Support the project change and decision management process by assessing the cost impact of changes/decisions on the project budget.
  • Maintain and promote realism in the cost forecasts in the face of commercial pressure and optimism from project teams.


Requirements:

  • Business or Engineering Degree and/or Certification as a Project Controls Professional or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in project controls cost control or project accounting role.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint skills.
  • SAP experience preferable.
  • Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills.
  • Supports Project Services and Finance teams in other areas when needed.
  • The ability to travel up to 20% domestically by car or plane, occasionally with short notice.
