The Sanitation Technician is an essential role in maintaining food safety standards to ensure compliance with both regulatory bodies and Taylor Farm’s internal policies. This position reports to the QA Supervisor.
About the Role
Ontario, CA
Pay Rate: $17.00/ hr
Status: Hourly, Fulltime
Days of the Week Needed: Saturday-Wednesday, holidays.
Available Shifts:
- 2nd 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM, .25 shift Pay Differential
- 3rd 8:00 PM - 4:30 AM, .50 shift Pay Differential
Work Hours: 8 hours possible OT
Status: Full-Time
Key responsibilities include:
- Clean and sanitize all facility, manufacturing equipment, and production areas according to schedule.
- Follow all Safety, Allergen Controls, Food Safety & Sanitation, Food Defense, and SQF policies and procedures relating to job duties.
- Follow all lock-out/tag-out procedures.
- Properly transporting trash and other waste to the disposal area.
- Perform all job duties in a safe manner by following all company and OSHA safety rules, and processes.
- Maintain cleaning and sanitation supply inventory.
- Reports food safety and quality problems to the QA Management team to ensure corrective action.
- Complete all proper documentation required for compliance.
- Additional duties as required.
Environment:
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Hair and beard net, gloves, safety shoes, bump cap, smocks
- Chemical Exposure: Cleaning Supplies and Food Allergens
- Temperature: Refrigerated 37 degrees Fahrenheit
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in food safety in a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience with GMP, HACCP, Food Safety, and Chemical Handling.
- Intermediate math, reading, and writing skills.
- Ability to able to bend twist, stoop, squat, and pivot.
- Ability to maintain a safe and positive work environment.
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs. frequently through an 8-hour shift.
- Ability to stand/ walk for 8 hour shifts.
