MUST have CURRENT New Mexico Peace Officer Certification as of 01-01-2023 or obtain Certification within 1yr of hire date.

Tatum does NOT participate in PERA Retirement Plan.

Must be willing to travel to Tatum, Nm.

Pass Pre-Employment screenings.

PATROL OFFICER- patrol within town limits, enforce traffic laws especially during school zones and high traffic

Must be able to perform police duties for 12hr shifts, day and/or night shifts, perform traffic stops during shifts, actively patrol town and businesses, schools and perform administrative duties.

MUST be a New Mexico Certified Officer (in good standing with NMDPS) or willing to obtain NM Certification within 1yr from date of hire.

Preferred Field Training Officer Instructor and Firearms Instructor. Any additional instructorships a plus. (Preferted due to travel and training cost)

Preferred Fleet management skills.

Town Council will interview and approve applicants.
