Position Summary: The purpose of the JTP Coordinator is to empower adults with severe and persistent mental illness to eliminate barriers that impact their ability to work. This includes hands-on vocational training and supports related to mental health and other areas of functioning. Most of the job duties for this position have general instructions about the assignments to be completed and regular deadlines over a set period of time. This position requires creative or innovative thinking and techniques. In consultation with a moderate number of internal and external contacts and supports this individual works toward a client’s success. Essential Job Functions: Provide mental health and resource navigation support to clients (50%):
Consult with team and supervisor on client caseload; manage mental illness supports
Oversee goal plans and goal setting
Assist with basic living skills, social and coping skills training
Assist with budgeting and financial planning to reduce barriers for housing and employment
Complete documentation including, but not limited to, the following:
Functional assessments
Individual community support plans
Progress notes
Payroll Notification forms
Incident forms
Supervision and training records
Direct onsite vocational hands-on training and supervision of job skills (35%):
Provide job-specific skill training in work site and classroom settings; retrain skills, as needed
Collaborate with other vocational training staff in problem-solving behavioral and other work performance related issues
Complete planned interventions and reports problems in this area to appropriate personnel
Participate in training plan review staffing
Provide assessment of trainee's vocational performance and recommendations regarding vocational training/service needs
Monitor clients’ mental health and quality control; provide constructive and positive feedback to clients

Must meet Department of Human Services criteria for Mental Health Practitioner
At least four (4) years work experience with adults with serious and persistent mental illness
At least one (1) year of supervisory experience
Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle
Preferred:
Prior work experience with adults in a vocational rehabilitation setting
Fluent in a non-English language or competent in the culture of an ethnic group to which 20 percent or more of the agency’s recipients belong
