Tarrant County is Hiring a BUILDING SUPERINTENDENT I - FACILITIES Near Tarrant County, TX

Oversee operation and provide service while maintaining building systems. Provide necessary information for budget and capital improvements. Manage one to three (1-3) temporary or work release people to help maintain the building and grounds.

1. Maintains the building systems for safe and comfortable operation
2. Prioritizes work to ensure building occupants’ needs are met in a timely fashion
3. Works with vendors and contractors and ensures that the work is performed properly
4. Inputs all requisitions and receipts for all materials and services received into the computer
5. Oversees the operating budget and control expenses within the assigned budget with supervision of the operations manager
6. Makes recommendations for capital budget items and provides cost estimates
7. Performs general office work including maintaining work logs, employee time, log books, keeping inventories and providing operations manager with monthly reports and budget information
8. Supervises work performed by CSCD and work release individuals performing janitorial, grounds and other maintenance duties
9. Visits with building occupants to ensure that their needs are met and solicits suggestions for improvements
10. Monitors and controls the utility cost
11. Performs plumbing repairs on sinks, commodes, urinals, water fountains and water leaks
12. Maintains chemical balance in cooling towers and closed loop systems
13. Replaces electrical ballasts, switches and plugs
14. Analyzes AC and heating problems in County facilities
15. Assists county carpenters, electricians, and painters in remodeling County buildings
16. Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment in buildings
17. Performs all other related duties as assigned

TO APPLYmust have a High School diploma or GED or higher education Two (2) full-time years' experience in building operations, management experience or training

CANDIDATES MUST HAVE THE ABILITY TO PASS A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT.
THIS POSITION MAY REQUIRE OVERTIME, ROTATING SHIFTS, NIGHTS, EVENINGS, WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAY WORK. 

Must have knowledge of basic building operations, life safety systems, plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems.
Must be computer literate with current operating system, spreadsheets and word processing software.
Must have the ability to work well with elected officials and department heads.
Must be self-motivated, organized and able to work without direct supervision.
(THE SELECTED CANDIDATE(S) FOR THIS POSITION MUST TAKE AND PASS A PRE-PLACEMENT PHYSICAL EXAMINATION.)
If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment at new hire processing.
Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudications in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment. A conviction or deferred adjudication is not an automatic bar to employment. Each case is considered individually.While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, walk, stand, bend, stoop, lift, push, and pull. This position may require overtime, rotating shifts nights, evenings, weekends and holiday work. Candidates must have the ability to pass a criminal background investigation prior to employment.
