Tantus Technologies, Inc. (Tantus) - recognized by the Washington Post as a Top Workplace - is seeking a Database Administrator to join our team in Herndon, VA. The qualified applicant will support the Consular Systems Modernization (CSM) Program. This initiative is modernizing and consolidating the operational environment under a common technology framework in order to better support the services provided to our customers. As part of the modernization program, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks and associated work products including requirements definition, concept of operations, systems modeling, system interface specifications, estimation, and trade studies.

What You'll Do

• Provide technical database expertise and/or solution delivery support for maintaining performance and reliability of database solutions for Mission Critical and essential services
• Maintain and enhance engagement with business and IT partners to determine requirements in support of service levels and project commitments
• Establish partner relationships with clients, internal and external
• Perform and support database associated change implementation in Production as required
• Provide input from database perspective regarding proactive monitoring and alert thresholds for services availability and accessibility; work with responsible teams to design and implement proactive monitors and alert thresholds
• Develop proactive monitors to measure Application/Service performance and provide input for enhancements
• Able to work and support 24x7 support environment

Must Haves

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 5 years’ experience; or four (4) years of additional relevant experience in lieu of degree 
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Oracle RDBMS Finish
• Broad technical expertise with technical knowledge in Oracle RDBMS 12c and 19c
• Expert level knowledge of General RDBMS, Database tuning, SQL tuning, Database Statistics, Database upgrades, Data Guard
• Working level knowledge of RAC (Real Application Clusters), Exadata, ASM, Grid Infrastructure, RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle database compliance framework, vi editor, Linux
• Excellent communications skills – the ability to effectively communicate highly technical information in non-technical terminology, both written and verbal
• Understanding of change management principles associated with upgrades and implementations
• Ability to work under minimal supervision
• US citizenship required
• Active Secret clearance or eligibility to obtain it
