Tanner Health System is Hiring an ED Nurse Tech - Emergency Department (Nights) Near Carrollton, GA

The Emergency Department Technician will serve as a liaison advocate for patients, families, visitors, and staff. The goal for the Emergency Department Technician is to enhance the personal service experienced by patients, family members, and visitors while enabling the Emergency Department staff to concentrate on direct patient care. The individual identifies needs of patients and their families and works to improve their satisfaction.

  • Healthcare Provider (CPR) or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

  • Proficient in written and verbal communication skills for documentation and patient, family and staff interactions to convey clear concise instructions and to accept information in order to understand and make decisions.

  • COMMUNICATION / TEAM WORK / CONDUCT: position requires frequent contact with others both within and external to the facility, The employee must: Demonstrate the ability to communicate and work effectively with others to promote safe, efficient care Exhibit the Tanner Standards of Behavior, Maintain confidentiality in compliance with the standards and policy for Private Medical Record, Communicate with patients, visitors and families in a manner which promotes patient satisfaction.
  • DOCUMENTATION AND MANAGMENT OF THE MEDICAL RECORD Responsible for documentation of patient care in compliance with policy and standards Knowledgeable in the review of data within the electronic record Knowledgeable in the entry and review of orders utilizing the Provider Order Management system. Manages the flow of the clinical record from rapid registration to discharge. Demonstrates the ability to accurately enter charges under the direction of the clinical manager
  • PARTICIPATION IN THE GENERAL UNIT OPERATION: Responsibly manages resources in a conscientious manner. Participates in the cleaning and storage of equipment in compliance with Infection Prevention standards. Participates in process improvement initiatives for the department and facility as directed.
  • PROVISION OF CARE: is responsible for provisions basic care needs for population served through: the collection of clinical data, implementation of the plan of care as directed by the RN or LPN, evaluation of the patient?s response to care provided, independently attending to the patients biophysical and psychosocial needs. Effectively understands and operates equipment appropriate to the departments scope of care and patient population Knowledgeable and effective in the set up of equipment for special procedures under the guidance of licensed personnel
  • STANDARDS / POLICY & PROCEDURE: Responsible for knowledge of policies & procedures and Standards related to the provision of safe medical care: including TJC, Georgia Board of Nursing, Infection Prevention, Core Measures, EMTALA, CMS, Specialty Organizations (ENA, AWON, AACN, etc)
  • AGE APPROPRIATE CARE: Demonstrates the behavior, skills and knowledge to provide age appropriate care for all populations served to include the: ability to communicate, assess developmental level, physiologic norms, signs and symptoms of neglect, immunization status, and emotional response to stress. The nursing unit serves patients ranging in age from infant to geriatric.
Compliance Statement
Employee performs within the prescribed limits of Tanner Health System's Ethics and Compliance program. Is responsible to detect, observe, and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Hotline.
