Tanner Health System is Hiring a Construction Superintendent Near Carrollton, GA

To provide construction supervision and project management services for assigned construction projects.
Education
High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Three years of related experience. Healthcare construction is a plus. Requires working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures.
Qualifications
  • General knowledge of building codes and regulations.
  • Proven ability to effectively work with others at all levels.
  • Skilled in effective, clear, and persuasive oral and written communication.
Requirements:
Area of Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, developing, and maintaining all aspects of construction for Tanner Health System and TMG.
  • Discusses, mediates, and resolves construction issues.
  • Ensures proper coordination and facilitation of Facilities program with other departments.
  • Interprets and ensures compliance with applicable codes, laws, and regulations.
  • Perform day to day duties as Project Superintendent for assigned Construction Projects.
  • Communicate issues and activities from a leaders perspective.
  • Monitor schedules for assigned projects.
  • Promotes team work, empowers teams and individuals to meet their potential.
  • Provides positive feedback, provide constructive criticism, articulates expectations, and functions as a sounding board for team and individual ideas.
  • Request and collect project permits, maintain project daily log, document job safety, education, and supports quality improvement efforts.
Compliance Statement
Employee performs within the prescribed limits of Tanner Health System's Ethics and Compliance program. Is responsible to detect, observe, and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Hotline.

  • Has direct supervision of subcontractors and orients and educates construction personnel to Tanner standards.

Effect Of Error
Probable errors may be serious and involve losses such as improper costs, overpayment, waste of material, damage to equipment, and delay in processing work. Effect usually confined within the organization. Most of work not subject to direct verification or check. Regularly works with some confidential data such as account, salaries, patient medical records, which if disclosed might have adverse internal or external effects.
Supervisory Responsibility
Regularly uses assistance of aide or helper or leads the work of one to four co-employees; checks performance of work assigned as to accuracy and time, doing same work, it's more difficult aspects, or other related work
Mental Demands
Work involves a variety of complex problems to be solved under general organization policies. Ingenuity and judgment are required to review facts, plan work, estimate costs, and deal with factors not easily evaluated, interpret results, draw conclusions, and take or recommend action. Solutions to problems often require coordination with other departments.
Physical Effort
Medium physical effort - Lifts, carries, or handles lightweight (1 to 25 lbs.) materials or equipment for most of the day. Occasional physical effort with medium weight objects (25-60 lbs.). Very occasional physical effort with heavy objects (over 60 lbs.).Works in reaching or strained positions for about half of day.

Moderate - (About 50% of the day) Involved in exposure to dirt, odors, noise, or some work is performed with exposure to temperature/weather extremes/occupational risk. Limited probability of coming into contact with blood borne pathogens, other potentially infectious diseases, or biomedical/bio-hazardous materials.
