Tandym Group is Hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatric OPWDD Near Huntington, NY
A Long Island-based nonprofit healthcare organization is looking to add a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) at one of their residential facilities in Suffolk County. About the Opportunity:
Setting: Residential facilities
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Hours: 7:30am to 4am
Patient Population: Pediatric ID/DD OPWDD
Patient Volume: Caseload of 20
EMR: Epic
Responsibilities: The Registered Nurse (RN) will:
Serve as the medical liaison for IDT team and ensure proper medical follow-up
Assess injuries/accidents to ensure individuals receive proper medical care
Develop written plans for each person; modify nursing plan, as necessary
Maintain medical records for each individual
Accompany individuals to medical appointments, as assigned
Ensure proper medical follow-up through an on-call system
Ensures all medication is administered and stored, as necessary
Complete appropriate incident reporting paperwork, as required
Act as a liaison with family members regarding medical issues
Provide ongoing training and supervision of AMAP certified staff
Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
Patient oriented
Great interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
