You will be responsible for ensuring that all products and equipment leaving our shop meet the highest levels of quality and safety. Your attention to detail, technical expertise, and commitment to excellence will be invaluable in driving our company's success. This role will be based in our fabrication facility and will report to our technical manager, Daniel Pyewell. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 5-10 of similar experience and having an ASN-TC Level 2 Visual. MT/PT is desirable, but is not required. Responsibilities Shop QA/QC Management
Manage and/or develop a new and maintain Tanco's Shop Quality Program
Manage the inspection of all shop welding and fabrication
Ensure all components are fabricated according to the drawings and ITP, including fully shop-assembled components when specified by the drawings
Ensure all parts and fabricated components are labeled with the associated job, heat, and MTR numbers
Ensure all materials used are per the specifications and are the correct material grades
Assemble and file all QA/QC documentation
Manage, file, and organize all MTR’s
Perform inspections on all shipments that arrive and depart the shop to ensure complete and accurate shipments
Maintaining welder certifications and continuity to ensure that each welding person is qualified
Maintain the shop welding documentation system
Provide WPS’s, PQR’s and WPQ’s as requested
Ensure that all welders are up to date with required weld testing/documentation
Review drawing packages and compare them to fabrication activities to ensure compliance
Review quality issues as they arise and assist with developing solutions to remedy them
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Support and drive the shop in terms of Safety Management and Goals
Assist with ensuring all staff Safety training is up-to-date and taken proactively
Perform weekly EHS audits of the shop. Work with the Shop Manager and Tanco Management to resolve any issues noted during audits
Support the shop for shipping and receiving
Assist the Shop Manager and Construction Manager with setting up material shipments
Ensure all loads entering or departing the shop are complete and accurate and include all required documentation (BOL, MMLS, MTR, NDE, etc.)
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of similar experience
ASN-TC Level 2 Visual (MT/PT is desirable but not required)
Solid understanding of quality control principles, practices, and techniques
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations
Strong attention to detail and ability to spot even the smallest quality issues
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
