Job Summary

Job Summary: Job incumbent is responsible for the day, night, or weekend management and operation of the TCC Paul Williams House residential facility. Job incumbent assists adult clients diagnosed with seriously mental illness with activities of daily living, individual and group skills development, crisis counseling and other supportive services. As a Lead, job incumbent will mentor new residential care coordinator staff.
Adhere to the TCC Ch'eghwtsen' model of service and guiding principle which requires providing timely and effective service along with the ability to interact with others in a way that inspires trust and demonstrates respect, compassion and empathy.


Essential Functions

Representative Duties:
Under direct supervision of the Paul Williams House Supervisor, job incumbent will:
1. Assure that all residents adhere to facility policy and procedures.
2. Provide high quality functional assessments, behavioral health counseling, individual and group skills development and case management to assist seriously mentally ill clients with behavioral health, social skills, recreational, self-maintenance and daily living. Assist in scheduling and facilitating regular individual and group community and recovery support services for Paul Williams House clients.
3. Provide consultation, training and guidance for Residential Care Coordinators and CSP Case Manager as needed, in conjunction with the Paul Williams House Program Manager. Acts as supervisor in the Addictions Program Manager’s absence.
4. Closely monitor resident behavior. Report observations and problems to the appropriate Case Manager and Supervisor in emergency situations.
5. Monitor client usage of medicines in appropriate logs and ensures that clients take medicines according to prescription.
6. Maintain clinical and administrative records in compliance with the State of Alaska Medicaid regulations and any other state and federal regulating statutes as required by program procedure and policy.
7. Ensures maintenance of sanitary conditions in client apartments; counsels or assists as needed to ensure client living areas are maintained.
8. Create and manage monthly shift calendar.
9. Make appropriate referrals for needed repairs of building and advised supervisor.
10. Maintain inventory of supplies and prepares supply orders.
11. Collect monthly room fees, documents on appropriate spreadsheets and submits to TCC accounting department.
12. Provide effective on-call coverage for Paul Williams House for emergencies.

Other Responsibilities:
1. Perform other job related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
2. Five years experiences providing behavioral health services and/or case management preferred. Prefer 3 years of experience as a Residential Care Coordinator.
3. Knowledge of Medicaid third party billing preferred.
4. Must have a driver’s license and a clean driving record.
5. Familiarity with Alaska Native culture and rural lifestyles required.
6. Must pass background check pursuant to Alaska DHSS and federal Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Strong verbal and interpersonal skills to problem solve dilemmas and crisis situation.
2. Strong computer and writing skills.
3. Ability to relate well to seriously mentally ill population is required.
4. Must have knowledge and ability to adhere to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality regulations be able to maintain strict client confidentiality.

Supervision:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Supervision

Physical demands: Job incumbent needs dexterity for walking up/down stairs and housekeeping duties. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in support of laundry and supplies. Must be able to stoop, kneel and crawl to perform housekeeping chores.

Summation

Summation: Job incumbent must be available to work outside of traditional work hours due to 24 hours supervised housing program (hours worked may be day, evening, nights and weekends) must be able to work in a sometimes stressful environment. Incumbent has daily contact with disabled clients – needs to be able to problem solve dilemmas and crisis and communicate effectively.
