Tampa Bay Times is Hiring an Armed Security Officer $18.00/hr. Near Tampa, FL
The Tampa Bay Times is seeking an experienced armed security officer for our downtown Tampa location. This is a temporary, full time position with no benefits. This temporary assignment is for approximately 7 months.
Must meet state of Florida law to be licensed to carry a firearm, maintain a current Class “D” and Class “G” security officer license. Own personal 9mm weapon required (Must be approved by Management). Qualified applicants will have one (1) or more of the following pre-hire requirements:
- Prior Military
- Prior Law Enforcement
- Armed Security Experience (2-year minimum)
- Unarmed Security experience (4-year minimum)
- Prior Corrections or Loss Prevention
- Graduate of Law Enforcement Academy
- Graduate of Corrections Academy
Applicants also require:
- Clean criminal history/background.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to respond to any emergency.
- Successful Candidate will be trained on Baton, OC, Handcuffs, TASER and CPR/AED/FA
- Monday thru Friday 9:00 am-5:00 pm (Off Saturday and Sunday).
- Training period will be conducted at our St Petersburg location.
- FL D & G Security Licenses required.
