JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary purpose:

  • Responsible for directing the day-to-day Gas Services functions (Gas Pipeline Customer Support, Invoicing) ensure that all monthly invoices are generated accurately and on time. Coordinate customer set up and invoice support between company and the customer/supplier, point of contact for commercial management, IT, Scheduling and Regulatory. Provides leadership and guidance necessary to strengthen the, customer support and billing processes. 

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage service to ensure accurate and timely billing while maximizing revenue, limiting billing errors and providing customer experience which promotes the renewal of contracts. 
  • Inter-departmental coordinator for data requests, accounting questions, regulatory filings, Tariff updates, rate cases, internal and external audit. 
  • Ensure compliance with SOX compliance control processes and procedures. 
  • Ensure accurate information is provided to Accounting and Regulatory. 
  • Ensure employees are sufficiently trained to carry out the necessary tasks for preparing monthly invoices and providing quality customer service. 
  • Provide coordination and execution to effectively manage and mentor the Business Process team to accomplish the department's goals. 
  • Evaluate, recommend, implement, and maintain customer support and service applications and tools. 
  • Lead the team to utilize system(s) functionality and create process efficiencies, interacting daily with customers and internal departments associated with commercial management activities. 
  • Coordinate monthly pipeline with Measurement, Scheduling, Accounting, and Information Technology (IT). 
  • Drive continuous improvement in the efficiency and accuracy of the invoicing process. 
  • Maintain ongoing and effective communication with other functional departments and senior management team. 
  • Manage personnel related matters, including providing performance-based feedback, providing support and completing administrative paperwork as needed. 
  • Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism. 
  • Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully. 
  • Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance. 
  • Will work non-traditional hours as needed. 
  • May require a minimal level of travel. 
  • Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the public. 
  • Other daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual and/or special project duties as identified and defined. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Business or a related discipline.

Experience/Specific Knowledge:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Experience with direct people management.
  • Ability to address multiple issues at once and willingness to delegate to and mentor employees.
  • Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience and proficiency with Natural Gas Pipeline Transportation system(s).
  • Knowledge of FERC and NAESB regulations.

Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from management, adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules. 
  • Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines. 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize daily work. 
  • Job level commensurate with experience and skill sets; position will be filled depending on qualifications, experience and skill sets of the successful candidate.

  • Modern office working conditions.
  • Required to carry a cell phone and be available to respond during working and non-working hours.
  • The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Marketing or Management.
  • 5 years’ experience in the natural gas industry or regulated natural gas transportation environment.
  • Knowledge of FERC regulatory and accounting rules as well as the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR).
  • Knowledge of NAESB regulations.
  • Experience with Great Plains GL modules.
  • Experience with Customer Interface Systems
  • Experience with Quorum systems including QPTM or other Natural Gas Pipeline Transportation Management systems.
  • Experience with Crystal Reports, Power BI or other third-party reporting software.
  • Knowledge of the various business units of Tallgrass.
