Talking Circles Therapy is seeking a part-time contractor psychiatric nurse practitioner experienced in mental health to join our private practice.

The primary responsibilities of this position involve conducting psychiatric diagnostic assessments, evaluating medication needs, and prescribing medications as appropriate. You will collaborate with other licensed mental health providers to deliver comprehensive care to our clients.

Our providers provide client-centered and evidence-based treatment approaches while adapting to the dynamic healthcare landscape. Our practice focuses on conditions such as, anxiety, depression, PTSD/trauma, insomnia and ADHD. The practice aims to address diverse mental health needs in our community by providing extensive medication management plus counseling services for adults and adolescents. POSITION IS FOR IN PERSON SO MUST BE LOCATED IN ALBUQUERQUE, NM

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct outpatient psychiatric evaluations, to include intake assessments & follow-up assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing support for individuals with mental health conditions.
• Create, communicate, and carry out treatment plans with the patient.
• Complete full and appropriate documentation to support professional billing for services.
• Interpret test results to diagnosis any health issues and provide feedback to patients.
• Educate and counsel patients regarding medication compliance.
• Prescribe medications when clinically necessary.
• Communicate with patients regarding diagnosis and treatment plan.
• Communicate with and make referrals to PCPs and/or specialists as appropriate.
• Provide services at community partnership locations.
• Maintain required licensure, certifications, and CME credits.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychiatric Nursing.

2. Current and valid New Mexico state Nurse Practitioner license with a focus on psychiatry.

3. Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).

4. Proven experience in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.

5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

6. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

7. Knowledge of current trends and best practices in psychiatric care.
