Job Description Summary

Responsible to perform the daily operations of Shipping and Receiving functions to include processing and delivery of all external and internal shipments.

Job Description

• Pay: $28hr
• Schedule: Monday-Friday (7:00am-3:30pm)
• Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment
• Utilizes various technologies including but not limited to computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), FedEx, UPS, Outlook email, and iPhone for the purpose of processing shipping/receiving orders
• Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
• Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipment
• Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers, packages items into containers using appropriate packing materials
• Affix identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers
• Post weights and shipping charges, and affix postage
• Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
• Receive, deliver and route items to various locations. May require driving company vehicle from various locations in Boston, Cambridge, and S. Boston.
• Follows customer’s standard operating procedures (SOP’s) related to regulated process
• Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
• Maintain inventory and tracking of shipping materials and supplies
• May use hand truck and dolly to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area
• May require lifting and/or moving objects in excess of 50 pounds and pushing up to 100 pounds
• Other duties as assigned which may include providing assistance to General Maintenance Technicians

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s License
• 1 years of relevant experience
• Customer service and professional
• Self-starter, motivated, team player with the ability to prioritize work
• Demonstrated willingness and ability to work independently and productively and to accept direction
• Highly organized and excellent record-keeping abilities
• Ability to frequently move and lift 50 pounds
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite preferred
• International Air Transport Association (IATA) certification preferred but not required
• Candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check, including criminal history.
