Security Engineer

The PwC Technology and Network Information Security (NIS) team at PwC is searching for talented security and technology professionals to build out a new center of excellence in the Netherlands. 

Operating on a local, regional and global scale, Network Information Security (NIS) is responsible for the definition of our security strategy to hands on execution of our global Cyber Readiness Program, moving from predominantly local to centralized services. Global Technology is responsible for driving the adoption and operation of global IT services across the organization.

Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success in security engineering with enterprise security technology including the following areas:

  • You will collaborate with both the global teams and the network of firms to support issue resolution and drive progress against our organisational goals. 

  • You will engage with member firm stakeholders to assess member firm needs in order to make recommendations for the implementation of our Technology and global security strategy.

  • Support senior team members with cross functional initiatives

  • Taking ownership for delivery of project tasks

  • You will leverage business communication skills to inform, persuade, and teach stakeholders across a global network of member firms to enable effective information security and technology activities and processes in line with the strategy

Demonstrates extensive knowledge and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:

  • Contributing to the development of new subject matter or technical domain specialization;

  • Resolving problems with multiple stakeholders by continuously applying significant independent judgment and by collaborating with others;

  •  Influencing others through a small team of direct reports, through work on projects and in teams, or through leading portions of larger projects;

  • Encouraging improvement and innovation within a team and nurturing and developing less-experienced staff through coaching and written and verbal feedback;

  • Understanding security technology at an enterprise and solution level and secure engineering principles as applied in the context of a broader understanding of the functional area and related systems and processes.

  • Executing tasks with autonomy.

  • Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success in security engineering with enterprise security technology including the following areas:

  • Engaging business and technology stakeholders at all levels to gather long term goals and requirements;

  • Mapping long term business requirements to complex security architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, SABSA, Zachman etc.;

  • Data Designing and building security technology solutions aligned to a global central service environment;

  • Working to transition technology from a local focus to a central technology service organization;

  • Working in a complex, matrix organization; and - Working with multiple stakeholders across functional and technical skillsets.

  • Inquisitive nature and intuition regarding what questions to ask, when, and their relative significance - a desire and enjoyment to learn

  • To enjoy helping people with problem solving, customer service outlook - working with teams to achieve positive outcome

  • You have strong communication skills to support and build relationships with stakeholders, facilitating effective information security activities aligned with the firm’s security strategy. 

  • Ability to manage workload - prioritise and recognise when to escalate to management
