ROLE SUMMARY

PC1 Background: Pfizer CentreOne is a global contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) embedded within Pfizer generating $800M in revenue. We leverage strategic Pfizer manufacturing plants as well as science and technology resources to manufacture medicine for biopharmaceutical companies. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Training and Development to lead the training initiatives for our dynamic workforce. And our fast-paced new sales alignment.

The Director of Training and Development will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive training programs that align with the strategic objectives of the organization. This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of adult learning principles and a proven track record of developing talent within a fast-paced and evolving environment. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with stakeholders across various departments to identify training needs, develop effective curricula, and ensure the successful execution of training initiatives. This leader will be tasked with elevating our team to build a premier sales organization. This position is responsible for innovating and implementing a strategic learning approach in the PC1 organization further enhancing the skills of our colleagues which offers a competitive advantage in the marketplace. developing, advancing and enabling the compliance of business processes and training programs for the PC1 organization. This role will be an independent contributor sitting on the leadership team. They will be tasked with the ability to create, develop and leverage enterprise resource to build and execute on all training plans.

  • Build sales model, train, implement and develop continued training to ensure our teams sales skills are continuously developing.

  • Develop and implement a strategic training and development plan that aligns with the company's goals and objectives and new technology additions to the market.

  • Identify training needs by conducting thorough assessments of employee skills, performance gaps, and future requirements.

  • Design, develop, and deliver a wide range of training programs, including onboarding, leadership development, technical skills training, and soft skills enhancement.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and internal stakeholders to create engaging and interactive training materials, resources, and tools.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through metrics analysis, feedback collection, and ongoing monitoring to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Manage the training budget and resources, ensuring optimal utilization and cost-effectiveness.

  • Stay updated on the latest trends, best practices, and technologies in the field of training and development, and incorporate them into the organization's training initiatives.

  • Lead as a role on the leadership team by providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure their professional growth and high-quality performance.

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development by encouraging employees to take advantage of professional development opportunities.

  • Collaborate with HR and department managers to identify high-potential employees and develop succession plans.

  • Fosters engagement of PC1 colleagues using innovative communication methods.

  • Leads the implementation of appropriate training formats.

  • Sets objective and direction of PC1 training documents and the systems where they reside e.g. PLA.

  • Demonstrates comprehensive industry knowledge of PGS site quality systems, including the PC1 PDOC cabinet and Pfizer Quality Standards (PQS).

  • Responsible for identification of the resources and technologies needed to achieve business compliance.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works independently using existing skills and experiences to provide innovative training content and curriculum based on input from PC1 Leadership team and cross-functional area stakeholders to improve business processes and adherence to quality and compliance standards of the PC1 Organization.

  • Designs and creates training content using innovative technology platforms.

  • Engages PC1 colleagues using innovative communication methods and digital tools to foster a culture committed to the Pfizer Values and “One PC1” vision.

  • Influences and supports the response to any PC1 customer plant audit queries regarding but not limited to the PC1 PDOC cabinet, Quality System findings or Training curriculum.

  • Organizes and leads the Pfizer Corporate Audits of PC1 business unit by exhibiting business expertise and an understanding of the external marketplace and customer requirements.

  • Conducts analysis of compliance to PC1 training curricula by the creation of maintenance and tracking processes. This includes the establishment of appropriate reviews of existing training documents with senior leadership and stakeholders along with anticipating changes to meet intended PQSs and Pfizer guidelines. Determine type of training activity required for any each roles curriculum and the proper format for that training.

  • Owner of the PC1 PDOC Cabinet and guide the PGS sites to ensure adherence to scope.

  • Ownership responsibilities as the PLA administrator for PC1.

  • Responsible for managing the process for the review of Center Function PQS Assessments.

  • Provides operational compliance oversight for project-related questions on policies and procedures.

  • Establish guidance/policy for compliant customer interactions such as events, advisory boards, conferences, webinars.

  • Communicates with and influences internal and external customers across site and department boundaries to ensure compliance.

  • Leads and/or participates on limited duration teams, continuous improvement initiatives and special projects for PC1. Establishes him/herself as an SME for PC1 related operational compliance and acts as a resource to project teams and direct reports.

  • Collaborates and influences with Global GMP Training Manager, Global PLA Administrator, PGS Site Training Leads, PC1 At-site Quality and PC1 Site Leads.

  • Influences behavior change through effective use of change management principles which foster adoption of Lightspeed Habits and colleague wellness.

  • Develop and drive strategy and programs to infuse cultural change and transformation.

  • Build programs to increase employee engagement, accountability, and transparency to foster positive cultural change.

  • Engage across Business Units to initiate, implement and promote innovative change collaborating across teams to identify opportunities for business process transformation and instil a mindset and culture of continuous improvement.

  • Build networks internally and externally to maximize engagement and ensure cutting edge approaches.

  • Builds and maintains all sales-based training and team certifications.

  • Creates, develops and leverages enterprise resource to build and execute on all training plans.

  • Manage the PC1 Education station.

  • Manage the PC1 Teams site.

  • Helps plan and execute colleague engagement initiative in partnership with the DBO and GM.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS/BA Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 10-15 years of experience in sales training, quality, and compliance.

  • Proven experience in a senior-level training and development role, preferably within a large organization or multinational company.

  • In-depth knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and training evaluation techniques.

  • Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse audiences.

  • Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering a variety of training programs, including e-learning, virtual training, and blended learning solutions.

  • Proficiency in learning management systems and other training-related technologies.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Exceptional organizational and project management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Professional certifications in training and development, are highly desirable.

  • Specific subject matter expert (SME) in Training Curriculum Management, Quality Systems or Compliance processes

  • Extensive sales training experience.

  • Experience with Writing and Training and Tracking Standard Operating Procedures.

  • PLA subject matter expert.

  • High level of change agility, flexibility, and courage with addressing ambiguous tasks and situations.

  • Proven track record of working effectively in a team-based environment, balancing diverse cross-functional perspectives, strong problem solving, leadership and collaboration skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and to escalate items as required to management / PC1.

  • Ability to collaborate with the Senior Leaders to support PC1 internal projects and PGS quality system queries.

  • Experience working in a cross-functional, matrix environment.

  • Innovative use of digital tools such as Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Stream, and Outlook.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or advanced degree in a relevant area preferred.

  • People leadership experience.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $144,900.00 to $241,500.00.* In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
