About the role

AIG has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Client Director and Industry Strategy Leader, North America supporting the national Client Engagement and Industry Practice. At AIG, our General Insurance business’ success is built on developing strong relationships with internal stakeholders, our broker trading partners and their clients. The Associate Client Director and Industry Strategy Leader, North America serves as a key strategic partner to both Product and Distribution working with cross-functional teams while overseeing the development and application of Client Engagement and Industry Strategy initiatives.

The candidate will have a proven ability to align and influence internal and external stakeholders, communicate well, be a patient listener, build a sustainable coalition, negotiate well, and be tolerant of ambiguity. Key attributes for the role include leadership, self-starter, entrepreneurialism, creativity, collaboration, alignment, accountability, strong influential skills, presence, vision, and broad insurance knowledge. Successful applicants should be inherently curious, having an impulse to seek new information and experiences and explore novel possibilities. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and finds opportunities to bring new thought and creativity to the processes.

What you need to know:

  • Provide strategic support to client engagement leaders, zonal leaders, and national broker leaders including insights leadership and project management expertise. Must be comfortable presenting strategic recommendations to key members of your cross-functional team and be influential in sharing strategy recommendations

  • Lead internal and external presentation preparation including Industry Strategy updates, Client Engagement updates, business reviews and management meetings.

  • Collect, analyze, and synthesize industry strategy and client engagement learnings from internal and external resources to tell a cohesive and actionable story to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with distribution analyst peers to better understand Client Engagement and Industry Strategy performance, evaluate process improvement initiatives, and summarize key insights to end stakeholders

  • Lead, design and execute industry strategy and client engagement initiatives by facilitating regular meetings with established working groups, defining ownership and focus, developing short and long-term objectives, implementing progress trackers, and establishing internal and external communication frameworks.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on major U.S. and Global client focused events to maximize value and drive positive client experience; prepare post-event presentations summarizing client feedback to be used in developing future events.

  • Develop and maintain quarterly Client Engagement and Industry Strategy update.

  • Lead monthly and quarterly calls with Client Engagement and Industry Strategy leaders to ensure alignment and awareness of strategic initiatives

  • Support Client Director(s) in engaging in a select group of top client relationships serving as secondary point of contact for our top tier customers.

  • Build valuable relationships and maintain regular, collaborative dialogue with key business influencers.

  • Actively participate in scheduled trainings, meetings, and feedback sessions.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5 years’ experience in Property & Casualty Insurance, Finance and/or Project Management.

  • Ability to build internal and external relationships and influence both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Must excel in multi-tasking and problem-solving under deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Well-developed planning, organization, and presentation development skills.

  • Ability to develop materials and present in a highly professional manner to executives and key stakeholders, both internal and external. This includes virtual and in-person presentations.

  • Excellent interpersonal, management and leadership skills – experience leading and executing cross-functional projects.
