**RECRUITING FOR AN ESTIMATOR IN MERCED, CA!!**

The Estimator provides the competitive cost analysis and bid preparation for construction projects. They are responsible for understanding and evaluating project plans, specifications, client goals, regulatory compliance, and other project needs. The Estimator leads the collaborative effort of stakeholders to prepare comprehensive estimates and clearly identify project scope and requirements. It is critical for the Estimator to develop positive working relationships with engineers, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, project managers, superintendents, and clients to ensure successful project preparation and execution. In addition to the key responsibilities of estimating, the Estimator is also naturally part of the sales team. They are often the first team member to develop a relationship with a potential client and must have strong communication skills and a clear understanding of our deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Evaluation - Review plans, specifications, client goals and project scope to gain understanding of project requirements
  • Cost Estimation - Prepare accurate and comprehensive estimates of project costs including, labor, materials, vendors, equipment, project management and supervision, mobilization, and other project expenses.
  • Bid Preparation - Prepare detailed and competitive bids in a timely manner
  • Supplier and Subcontractors - Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and clarify scope of work.
  • Site Visits - Conduct on-site visits to potential projects to assess existing conditions and provide better context when preparing estimates.
  • Value Engineering - Optimize projects by finding cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality
  • Documentation - Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including plans, specs, submissions, take-offs, and other project related documents. Prepare and submit RFI’s to clarify project understanding.
  • Project Meetings - Host pre-construction and project handoff meetings to provide construction management team with a complete understanding of project status, costs and stakeholders.
  • Client Satisfaction - Foster positive relationships with clients by understanding project goals, addressing concerns, and preparing a project that aligns with their vision.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5 years of experience estimating in the Construction industry
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with attention to detail
  • Competency with estimating software’s and standard server software applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Good math aptitude skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good listening and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to conduct research into issues and products as required
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Keen attention to detail and organized
  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
