Project Controller - Unleash Your Cost Accounting Expertise!Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 annually

Are you ready to take the lead in cost accounting analysis and project budget management?

Join our client, a prominent full-service roofing and exterior services provider, as a Project Controller in Laurel, MD. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to compare estimated costs to actual costs, prepare comprehensive budget reports, and contribute to the financial success of our projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, record, and analyze variable costs, including raw material purchases, labor expenses, and operational costs.
  • Take charge of all project budgets, reconciliation, and effective management of project purchase orders.
  • Skillfully prepare and dispatch monthly billings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial protocols.
  • Conduct project month-end and year-end closings, along with Work in Progress (WiP) cost reporting and preparation.
  • Review and analyze actual costs, identifying inaccuracies and proposing corrective measures.
  • Generate necessary project budgeting reports, ensuring clarity and alignment with financial goals.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of financial operations.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • High School Diploma / GED.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in cost accounting.
  • Previous expertise in Financial Planning and Analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Procore strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of gain and fade accounting principles.
  • Thorough knowledge of budgeting processes and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Preferred audit background.
  • Construction company experience is a must.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.


Preferred Skills/Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration.
