The Portfolio Analyst will play a pivotal role within our organization, spearheading the core trading and investment operations. As a key member of our collaborative team, you will be entrusted with fulfilling clients' needs and objectives through astute investment decisions and meticulous asset allocation processes. Beyond analytical prowess, the ideal candidate will adeptly execute daily processes, implement strategic investment approaches, conduct thorough research, and expertly maintain and adjust firm models as needed. Comfort in engaging with both the investment committee and clients is paramount. This role not only offers an immediate opportunity to maintain, monitor, and enhance our investment process but also serves as a springboard for professional growth.
Responsibilities & Activities
  • Prepare portfolio research reports at the request of the investment committee
  • Allocate aggregated trades across accounts
  • Monitoring to ensure portfolios stay within tolerance bands
  • Rebalancing accounts into portfolio models
  • Act as liaison between the firm and various companies to identify share class eligibility
  • During tax season, assist with harvesting gains and losses for tax efficiency
  • Ensure fair execution and trade review for compliance
  • Produce, analyze and oversee the production of quarterly performance reports, as well as troubleshoot and report data inaccuracies and enact solutions
  • Orion and Eclipse coding and database management, including coding accounts, fee schedules, securities, and portfolio models
  • Evaluate potential alternative investments and maintain knowledge of the firm's current alternative holdings; be prepared to discuss alternative investment performance with the firm's largest clients
  • Build and maintain client relationships, providing ongoing communication and guidance on portfolio performance and market developments
  • Stay informed of market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes that may impact investment decisions
  • Provide recommendations on how to implement new capabilities within our platforms
  • Other special projects to support firm-wide process improvement and capabilities
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Required:
  • A bachelor's degree
  • 2 years investment analysis experience
  • Organizational and prioritization skills
  • Technological skills, as most duties are performed on various software platforms
  • Work well within supporting team environment
  • Attention to detail
  • In-office attendance is essential
Preferred:
  • 5 years of experience in a financial services firm is preferred
  • Variety of experience across asset classes is highly preferred
  • Familiar with Orion, Eclipse, Schwab and industry-specific CRM platforms preferred
  • CFA candidate or designation preferred
