TalentBurst is Hiring a Staffing - Drafting/CAD Technician II Near Painted Post, NY
Location : 100% onsite at IDM facility (905 Addison Rd, Painted Post, NY)
Shift : M-F, 8am - 5pm
Duration : Possible extension after 6 months
Interview process: Phone screen, then onsite interview
Must Have
- 3D Modeling
- Auto CAD
- SolidWorks
Top required skills:
- Associate degree minimum required
- Minimum of 3 years SolidWorks exp
- PDM Works experience a plus
- Familiarity with AutoCad
- Microsoft Suite proficiency
Encompasses the use of integrated systems for computer-aided design used for the systematic representation and dimensional specification of extrusion dies, as well as, occasional production tooling and equipment. Utilizes CAD digitizing techniques and skills. Prepares and maintains CAD models and drawing packages.
Requirements:
Intermediate level technical understanding. Implements standard procedures and proposes intermediate level modifications to improve workflow. Still generally obtains input to solve more complex problems. Works under department supervision. Able to gather information independently using established and defined procedures. Takes initiative in the area of continuous improvement. Uses some discretion. Contacts are typically within organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with engineers and supervisors, taking direction to fulfill project requirements.
- Engage in longer-term routine-based tasks.
- Create and modify 3D CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks.
- Develop comprehensive drawing packages, including managing redlines and revisions.
- Handle process and die tracking through spreadsheets and updating tracking systems.
- Perform admin duties for PDMWorks.
- Provide drafting support for non-die components.
- Manage legacy print obsolescence.
- Conduct CAD audits and ensure DARM compliance.
- Create and manage technical documentation, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Offer support to the shop floor as needed.
- Provide support for various assigned tasks and projects as needed.
- Multitask effectively, managing several projects simultaneously without compromising on quality.
- Maintain high attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling, particularly in SolidWorks.
- Strong capability in handling drafting packages, redlines, revisions, and documentation management.
- Proven ability to follow stringent processes and compliance standards.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to take direction well.
- Flexibility to provide support as needed across different areas.
