Locations: Abilene, TX
Schedule: Varied Shifts, Day Shift
Timings: PRN hours as needed, M thru F, variable shifts, Mon-Fri days, varied shifts
JOB SUMMARY:
- Performs diagnostic cardiovascular examinations per physician orders and according to department protocols.
- Generates preliminary reports for physician interpretation.
- Charts and charges procedures electronically.
- Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Effectively interacts with patient and significant others, while maintaining professional standards.
- Interacts with Cardiologists and referring physicians according to applicable departmental policies regarding critical findings.
- Interacts with team leaders and managers to discuss significant findings, clinical situations, workflow status and equipment malfunctions.
- Often works without direct supervision and must have outstanding work ethics and integrity.
- Must be registered in either Adult Cardiac or Vascular Sonography by ARDMS or CCI.
- Must acquire CMEs as required by professional registries and by national lab accreditation.
- Is expected to be dependable and responsible and to comply with all personnel policies set forth by Hendrick Medical Center.
Minimum Education
- High School Diploma
- 1 year on the job training or graduate of accredited ultrasound school.
- RDCS or RCS in adult echo or RVT or RVS in vascular ultrasound (Completed within 1 year of hire date)
- CPR
- Perform all cardiac or vascular ultrasound procedures that are available in Non-Invasive Cardiology.
- Master use of all equipment including ultrasound systems, PVR, BP monitors and computer systems.
- Attends required training programs and staff meetings and completes computer based learning lessons.
- Must be available for on-call status, as scheduled, after normal operating hours, on weekends and holidays.
