Overview
ISP/OSP engineers are responsible for the design, construction, maintenance, and regular evaluation of the corporate IT network physical plant infrastructure at or between the 271 passenger, rail, bus, light rail, and corporate sites in New Jersey, NYC, and Pennsylvania. Primary function is to conduct surveys, research, recommend, design, create construction documents, scopes of work, bills of materials, and then obtain trades to build out under your direction.
Responsibilities:
Design, construct, maintain, and evaluate corporate IT network physical plant infrastructure.
Conduct surveys, research, and recommend designs for inside and outside plant environments.
Create detailed engineering drawings and construction documents conforming to standards and codes.
Coordinate with contractors for construction and manage installations ensuring compliance.
Supervise and manage installations, conduct inspections, and oversee project timelines.
Required Skills:
Proficiency in CAD for designing IT infrastructure layouts.
Expertise in OSP and ISP engineering for both interior and exterior settings.
Strong knowledge of structured cabling for fiber optic and copper ethernet.
Familiarity with NEC codes, BICSI standards, and data center design principles.
Ability to estimate costs, time, and materials, and manage IT projects from inception to production.
