The Food Science intern assists the Quality and Innovation team with daily quality assurance duties, programs, projects, and improvement initiatives. Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe intern will assist with a wide range of duties, including general oversight of food safety programs and policiesSupport of the quality assurance process through customer relations, database management, customer and industry audits, and continuous improvement effortsActs as a support to food safety and quality management in any and all matters Maintains documentation for, coordinates, and facilitates customer and industry audits Assist with consumer and customer complaints Participates in special projects and performs special assignments as required.Maintains quality and food safety systems in accordance with current government, regulatory, and industry standards; ensures internal programs to align with SQF standards. Education and Experience ProfileIdeal candidate is working toward a bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or other related degrees Knowledge and understanding of Food Safety and Food QualityProficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Required SkillsAbility to gather, review, analyze, synthesize, and report dataAbility to work well and participate in a team environment.Demonstrate strong organizational and planning skillsDisplay excellent written and strong oral communication skills Work Environment:Working conditions are normal for an office environment.The above information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this job/classification.
