SUMMARY
The Residential Team Lead reports to the Residential Program Manager is responsible for designing and implementing client services that address the Talbot Health Services mission and providing them in a manner that is consistent with the Agency’s vision and values. This is an hourly position and as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor is categorized as a Clinical position. As such, this position is classified as non-exempt under the wage and hour regulations of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSE, CERTIFICATION
Required
  • High school diploma
  • Ohio CDCA license
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Supervisor experience
  • Experience in a behavioral healthcare setting
Preferred
  • Three years of relevant experience
  • Associates degree or higher in a related field
  • CPR/First Aid/AED Training
  • Crisis Prevention/De-escalation Training
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor the needs of client’s mental illness or substance use and physical symptoms as well as their response to treatment; communicate these changes to the treatment team to ensure immediate and appropriate interventions are provided.
  • Work with families of persons served to identify needs and connect them with resources to meet those needs.
  • Coordinate community resources including school, probation officers, referral sources and outpatient mental health providers to ensure continuity of care.
4. Facilitate appointments to ensure overall physical well-being including basic, mental health and substance use needs.
5. Perform duties in accordance with applicable professional ethics and standards and established agency policies.
6. Comply with all state and federal laws regarding protected health information.
7. Coordinate with community referral sources regarding services and availability.
8. Assist in the development and implementation of treatment plan goals and objectives.
9. Provide group and individual counseling as necessary (CDCA).
10. Complete documentation within 48 hours of provided service(s).
11. Coordinate with treatment team daily.
12. Assist and educate clients in developing Basic Living Skills.
13. Follow all best practices and Residential Program Rules.
14. Mandatory participation in weekly supervision.
15. Maintain client chart with up-to-date client information (demographics).
16. Assisting with after hours calls and assisting with shift coverage.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Perform other duties in a manner that’s friendly, considerate, and aligned with the Agency’s vision and values.
2. Organize and plan work for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
3. Utilize IT systems and software programs in accordance with agency policy.
4. Utilize time off in a manner consistent with agency policy.
5. Perform other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate by supervisor.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
  • Ability to learn and utilize the agency’s electronic tools effectively and efficiently within 30 days of hire.
  • Demonstrate a current knowledge of mental health and substance use practices.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of community resources and partnerships available for persons served.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively function as an agency team member.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Possess and demonstrate effective organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrate the ability to customarily and regularly exercise discretion and good professional judgment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
  • Ability to perform job responsibilities in facilities or community-based residences and buildings with multiple levels and without elevator or mechanical support.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Effectively operate a computer and keyboard.
