Takoma Wellness Center is Hiring a Check-In Staff Near Washington, DC

Position Summary

The Takoma Wellness Center in Northwest Washington, DC is growing, and we are looking to add passionately, customer service focused talent to our store! Outside Check-In Staff Member is the first point of contact for all of our patients. They work 8-10 hours a day outside the building in all weather conditions registering patients for the DC MMJ program, verifying documents for existing patients, and assisting patients and security coming in and out of the building.

Our ideal Outside Check-In Staff Member has a positive upbeat attitude, a strong desire to help people, and a strong working knowledge of computers and technology. Previous background in customer service in a retail environment is required (2 years)

Job Responsibilities

  • Possess a positive attitude while greeting customers and patients
  • Build rapport with regular patients/customers to promote repeat business
  • Work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment
  • Provide support to managers and other staff members as needed
  • Understand and apply detailed compliance regulations as required by local and state laws
  • Maintain compliance with DC MMJ regulations
  • Help out of state patients and adult visitors register with the DC MMJ Program
  • Verify documents for existing patients coming to pick up or place orders
  • Working with other staff members and manager to help resolve various customer service related issues with patients
  • Performs clerical tasks including creating and maintaining patient records

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of retail or hospitality experience
  • Must be 21 years of age and comply with all local, state, and company regulations
  • Required to undergo a criminal background check and appropriate state badging (as directed by state ordinances)
  • Must be a current medical marijuana card holder (any state is fine)
  • Ability to use office equipment (computers and printers) and their included software i.e. Word, Excel, email, etc.
  • Learn and understand Federal, State, and local laws relating to the cannabis industry and safety regulations.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against covid 19

Physical and Mental Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate and/or prepare, place, position objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally move packages weighing up to 20 lb. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close observation and the ability to adjust focus. At times the job can be high volume & high pressure. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual, with or without reasonable accommodation, to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

Working Environment:

Work is performed in a retail environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position is outside of the building working in all weather conditions for 8-10 hours a day. Breaks are provided. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounter while performing the essential functions of this position.
