TAK Communications CA is Hiring a Construction Technician 3 Near Fairfield, CA

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Pull fiber/copper/coax cable through existing duct package, pull cable through conduit either manually, blowing, or mechanically.
  • Fill out paperwork as required.
  • Willing to work outside in varying weather conditions.
  • Lay cable, conduit and fiber innerduct.
  • Keep detailed record of work activity.
  • Unreel, pull and string wire and cable from pole to pole.
  • Work with hand tools.
  • Ability to operate a missile
  • Ability to operate a compressor
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in underground construction.
  • Strictly adhere to the standard operating procedures provided by TAK Communications CA.
  • Any other duties as required.

PREFERRED CANDIDATE WILL:

  • Possess knowledge of procedures and equipment to identify and clearly mark existing underground cables as directed.
  • Operate, locate and bury drop equipment as required within areas of responsibility.
  • Wear TAK CA approved apparel that clearly identifies you as a TAK CA employee.
  • Gain knowledge of TAK Communications CA safety program, practice and enforce safety rules and procedures.
  • Safely drive/maneuver vehicle and cable trailer in and around construction sites, parking lots, etc.
  • Must speak English in order to communicate clearly, concisely, effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
  • Maintain regular attendance and to arrive to work on time.
  • Apply personal ethics, honesty, initiative, flexibility, responsibility and confidentiality in all areas of responsibility.
  • Possess an enthusiastic, energetic, self-motivated, and detail-oriented approach towards work and all work projects.
  • Maintain a current and valid driver’s license.
  • Willing to travel.
  • Class A driver license required.
  • Clean DMV.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work outdoors in inclement weather and at all times of the day or night.
  • Work performed near power lines and electricity.
  • Work outdoors with all aspects of nature to include a variety of insects and plants.
  • Work overtime as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to safely use weight-bearing equipment (safety harness and ladders) within the maximum weight limitations of the equipment (Body Weight must not exceed 275 lbs.)
  • Ability to carry, climb, operate and work upon an extension ladder - (approximately 28 ft high and 75 pounds)
  • Ability to operate a variety of drop bury equipment.
  • Ability to accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring devices.
