Shipping Lead
Summary of Position
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Responsible for preparing and packaging products for shipment as necessary to meet shipping deadlines
- Ensure that 6S concepts are applied and adhered to within the work area
- Identify areas for process improvement, recommend and implement solutions
- Training and coaching new and current operators to ensure employees understand processes and methods required to achieve TLP’s standards for safety and quality while adhering to the company’s principles and policies
- Informs supervisor of policy or performance concerns within the department so that proper follow-up can take place
- Act as a technical resource to the shipping team to address and resolve product quality, equipment, and process issues
- Review both new and R&D orders as assigned by the supervisor to ensure company standards are met
- Perform second signoff responsibilities as defined in the First Piece Press Checklist
- Ensure that weekly maintenance is performed as required
- Leads by example and conducts self in accordance with TLP Core Values
- Update SQDC boards as needed and provide input on potential areas for improvement
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Qualifications
- Strong understanding of shipping and manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in shipping or machine equipment operations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively and efficiently
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
- Functions with a team mentality but able to work independently as needed
- Must be able to operate email and ERP systems properly and accurately
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
