Job Title: Field Technician

JOB SUMMARY
The position of Field Technician is responsible for all aspects of railcar cleaning and the inspection, care and maintenance of equipment used in the cleaning process. He or she must be able to make safe confined space entries wearing movement and sight restricting personal protective equipment with limited lighting to clean the interior of tank and hopper cars in compliance with Tactical Cleaning policies and procedures.
The Field Technician is responsible for informing the Shop Manager of issues related to their assigned duties.
DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary by supervisor. In order to perform the essential functions of the job, the incumbent must possess, at a minimum, the following skills and abilities. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred.
A minimum of 1 year of proven successful experience in a freight car/tank car experience is preferred; a combination of education and experience is required. Experience working with heavy construction, cleaning, and/or repair equipment will be considered.
