Location: Taconic Biosciences is seeking an Associate Director Project Management Office to join our dedicated team in this remote position. This position will work primarily remote (90%) with requirements to be onsite approximately once per month. Residing within a 3-hour drive (e.g., NJ, NY, CT, MA) from the Germantown, NY or Rensselaer, NY site is required.
The Pay Range: $135,000 - $145,000. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions, with this the upper end of the range is not always likely to be offered.

The Role:
Taconic is on a mission to accelerate advancements in human health by providing critical tools for drug discovery and approval. We're in search of an experienced project manager to spearhead the establishment of our Project Management Office (PMO) while overseeing critical company investments. With a minimum of 5 years of project management expertise, the ideal candidate excels in cross-functional collaboration, problem-solving, and unwavering determination. Strong communication skills and an unwavering commitment to detail are essential for success in this role.
The selected candidate will lead the establishment of Taconic's PMO, driving the development of project management competencies aligned with our vision and strategic plan. Collaborating across departments, they will manage pivotal projects such as new site construction, validation and startup, product launches, continuous improvement initiatives, and acquisition integrations. Additionally, they will design and implement training programs to equip staff with the skills needed to manage less complex projects effectively. Through meticulous oversight, the PMO will ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget, facilitating Taconic's attainment of its growth objectives. Regular status reports will be provided to the CEO and Leadership Team to maintain transparency and alignment with organizational goals.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for managing bigger, cross-organizational projects.
  • Develop, maintain, and refine Project Management Office function.
  • Generate, drive and update cross-functional project plans that are aligned to the company strategy.
  • In cooperation with the learning and development team, create project management training programs and train staff in appropriate level programs.
  • Develop and implement a companywide project management tool to track and report on all projects.
  • Develop and distribute templates and other technical documents required for end-to-end management of projects.
  • Design and maintain a reporting tool for different users and management groups to provide a clear overview about, for example, number of projects, project status, risks, workload, resources, etc.
  • Support managers and management to identify project opportunities and risks.
  • Program manage the schedule, budget, build-out and start-up of our new site.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve capabilities related to large capital investments.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or technical/managerial experience at an equivalent level.
  • Six Sigma Green or Black belt preferred.
  • Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP) preferred.
  • 5 years of relevant experience and/or training in project management.
  • Prior supervisory experience a plus.
  • Experience in making decisions or recommendations significantly developing or changing organizational policies or procedures.
  • Proven track record of making strategic decisions and implementing organizational policies or procedures.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management principles and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in interpreting complex documents and presenting information in a clear and concise manner.
Travel:
Regular travel is required, generally no more than one trip per month.
